Hyotan Sushi in Tenjin

Food is sucks and very expensive vs the sushi I had at Bayside place hataka (near Port tower). Not worth to eat. It's double the price. Sushi fish raw cost at 320¥ for 1 piece, the one I had at Bayside place hataka at 220¥ for 2 pieces. Not worth to eat.

Got in line about 15-20 minutes before opening. People were lined up, but managed to get in the first wave. Quick service, friendly staff. Went with a friend that wasn't a big fan of fish, and even he loved it. Fresh sashimi (not a strong, fishy taste). English and Korean menus. Definitely worth the wait!!

This restaurant provides high quality sushi with reasonable prices. Upgraded set is significantly better in terms of materials than the regular set, but both are very good. We arrived at 1pm on a weekday and there are approximately 10 people lined up. But waiting time was very short, 5-10 minutes.

The best Sushi in town, also basashi was incredibly nice! Highly recommended but should bear in mind of the long queue !

Very tasty sushi and nice restaurant. Prices are bit high, but not crazy. So set a limit to prevent losing too much money. But for that it would be nice to know the actual costs you have. I could eat one more sushi, because I didn't reach my limit. Maybe you need to wait for a seat, because the are well know on the city.Overall I recommend it.

Plenty of tables, servers fast and freshly tasty sushi!! It's near the station and easy to access and also there is a elevator for disabled customers!

Of course very fresh fish, but also there are menus items posted all over the walls with pictures, and with English translations. Easy to point and pick. Also, the service was quick and friendly. Live abalone is their specialty. Also, several kid friendly seating, and menu options. You should be aware that the wait times can be up to an hour when it first opens at 1130am. Either come half hour to 15 mins early and line up outside or come toward the afternoon for shorter wait times (ends at 3pm). Also, for those with kids, there are tatami seating areas but you must leave strollers outside.

We visited about 8pm on 7Oct, a Monday night so there was no queue as experienced by other Google post. Service & food ok considering the price. Staff don’t speak English and there is no English menu so it was point on menu and order type. Luckily we can read Chinese so can figure out the dishes. We spend ~1500yen for two but we are small eaters. A non-smoking place.

Extremely good sushi moderately priced. Upstairs and limited seating. All selections are shown with pictures and multiple languages. Be sure to check out the specials.

It is expected to be waited over 20 mins as it is quite famous in Tenjin. It is my 3rd times for dinner at this restaurant, and we did came early to try avoiding a Ling queuing. The food remains in high quality, we enjoy a lot.

Very fresh and nice sushi, also didn't need to wait so long to be served.

Yummy and reasonable price

It’s been 3 month since my visit, and I still miss the great food I had here. Had to line up for about 45 minutes as per expectation set very well by signs and the staffs, then the food was very nice at such affordable price range. If you happen to visit Tenjin, don’t miss here!

The ingredients are so fresh.

Fresh sushi. So fresh it was still moving. Cool tatami tables. Very quick moving line. Two floors for seating.

Advised to show up early because there will be a long lineup. This place is popular among locals as well as tourists. This place serves up a huge variety of sushi (whale tongue). The quality is also spectacular. Staffs are very friendly and they have menus in different languages. Highly recommended.

It's a very famous Sushi Restaurant in town Long waiting but getting a seat However , I do not like their sushi rice it's very sorts and stickyThe only wow is the moving Abalone and the rest are really so so But it you are looking fir a cheap sushi meal and fill you up, this would be your choice

Not what I was expecting, staff were really friendly and there was not much of a wait. Temperature of sushi was warmer than I have ever experienced, especially with the salmon. For a place for such great reviews I felt a bit dissapointed in terms of value Vs quality. Maybe it was just a bad experience or else that we got there towards the latter part of the night. We were seated on the floor style tables, might be worth considering if you have difficulties.

Decent for the area and price but nothing amazing. A step up from sushizanmai. The staff here aren’t as nice as other restaurants. May be difficult to communicate if you don’t speak Japanese.

It's a truly amazing restaurant. The quality of sushi is exceptional. They are simply very very fresh and delicious. Every time you take a bite, you will realize that you are in the heaven. It is one of the top sushi places in town. The price of food, considering the quality of it, it is just amazing. If you are a sushi-lover, you must check this place out. I am a sushi-lover, and I come to this place every time I make a visit to Fukuoka.

Amazing sushi restaurant! The sushi itself was delicious, the staff were all very friendly and one waitress spoke English well enough to explain how things worked. Surprisingly the sushi was also very affordable - I would happily have paid more for it.

Nice introductory to the Japanese cuisine. A bit pricier than local Japanese Sushi but good food.

One of the best sushi I have eaten in Japan so far. They have two stores, one is kaiten sushi (sushi go round), the other is for usual menu orders. I refer to the last as a "must go". You will face lines on both stores, but it's worth waiting. It's pricey depending on how much your eat.

It's a great sushi restaurant. Long queue every time we go. Average waiting time is 15 minutes if you are only two to four people. Varieties of food is available including cooked food. It's good for people who don't like raw food.

One of the staff is not really friendly there. Other staffs are very nice. The waiting is not as bad as it looks like. The foods are nice, the prices are reasonable. With variable menu selections there. The atmosphere is not relaxing.
